Job Title:  Project Manager/Estimator

Shift:  Day/Monday-Friday

Position Summary: The Project Managers/Estimator is responsible for estimation and quoting projects.  If a large project requiring project management is won, he/she will be responsible for managing and coordinating the project through delivery and final payment from the customer.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Bidding projects and collecting vendor pricing and information for proposal preparation.
  • Responsible for reviewing assigned project invitations and gathering all information needed to complete a proposal.
  • Clearly communicate with customers in a timely manner (via phone and/or email) to understand project requirements, goals and post bid questions.
  • Understands the current market and works to put together winning, profitable proposals.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Management Team to pursue and earn projects bid.
  • Once awarded, set up projects for a detailed and successful execution.
  • Have an understanding of standard building construction methods for metal fabrication.
  • Handle multiple tasks in a deadline oriented environment.
  • Maintain work area, organized and orderly, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Once project is received, review drawings to ensure they are accurate and in accordance with (1) the contract drawings and specifications; (2) Integrity Welding & Fabrication capabilities and manufacturing methods; and (3) any weld certification requirements.
  • Have a strong grasp of construction standards; strong understanding of raw materials and fabrication methods.
  • Coordinates with the following:
  • Sales – to review leads and determine feasibility. This may require visits to customers and jobsites prior to the proposal.
  • Manufacturing Team – to ensure that quality and scheduling expectations are met and/or exceeded in the shop. Coordinate deliveries and delivery schedules with the customer and Production to ensure product is delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Installation Team – to ensure that quality and scheduling expectations are met and/or exceeded in the field, if applicable.
  • Monitor costs to ensure job is on schedule and within estimated budgets.
  • Must be able to decipher and understand scope of work.
  • Write Requests For Information (RFI’s) to make sure the necessary information is obtained and distributed so that processes may proceed in a timely manner.
  • Attend meetings as necessary to clarify scope or means of fabrication.
  • Manage multiple projects at one time; therefore, strong organization skills will be needed.
  • Assess risk against production timelines and contractor schedules.
  • Customer Service oriented – PMs have constant interaction with customers (internal and external).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline orientated environment.
    • Maintain work area, organized and orderly, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
    • Possess a good driving record and have the ability to visit customers in Colorado Springs, Denver, and the surrounding areas when needed.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Have a minimum of 1 year of Estimation and/or Project Management experience in a metal fabrication or construction environment to include: field measurements, reviewing shop drawings and other project management skills from handoff to project completion.
  • Able to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications; must be able to identify errors and/or omissions on the drawings and request immediate clarification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Knowledge of Quick Books a plus

The noise level in the work environment can be minimal to high.  Must adhere to IWF and customer safety protocols.
